Colony Roles

Leader

The main cat in charge of a colony, granted 9 lives after a ritual involving a seer of each colony. Must have been a Second-in-Command, unless unusual circumstances occur.

Second-In-Command

The leader’s direct subordinate, handpicked by the leader as their successor in the event of their death. Must have been a soldier and a bodyguard before being eligible. Typically there is only one, though sometimes two will be appointed. If there are two, one will be chosen as the leader and the other will either continue on as second-in-command or retire.

Healers

The wound-tenders of each colony.

Negotiators

Peace-keepers meant to prevent unnecessary conflict between the colonies.

Caretakers

Cats who choose to care for and nurture the growing kits of the colony. Often the first choice for surrogates.

They are also responsible for creating cloaks for every apprentice-aged cat, cleaning the campgrounds, and cleaning the grave sites.

Historians

Keepers of history, whom often research not just cat history, but also the histories of Uprighters (humans), Foxes, Badgers, Dogs, Coyotes, and Wolves.

Bodyguards

Cats whose job is to protect important cats. Usually, they stand guard near the colony camps, especially near the nursery dens and leader den. An upgrade from soldiers, only available after having trained two apprentices.

Soldiers

Cats who patrol the borders, hunt for food, and report odd findings to the second-in-command. Usually the most populated role in a clan.

Apprentices

Trainees just out of kithood, trained in their field.

Jobless

Kits, Elders, and those unable to fulfill any role in the colony.
