Most of the people of Onett will tell you one thing about Porky Minch; "that boy is trouble!" Although he doesn't prove as much of a nuisance as the local gang, the Sharks, the police force of Onett are still well acquainted with Porky and his antics. Although everyone knows Ness often helps him in his antics, he always takes the fall for his friend, showing that he truly has a good heart. Much like his friend, he is noticeably different from the other boys his age, and does not seem afraid to show off his more "girly" interests. He only shows any hesitation when he is heading back home for the day.
Because he is so used to taking the fall for his beloved friend, he is seemingly unafraid of many things and can often seem to be quite courageous. In reality, he is often afraid of the situations he lands himself in, but lacks any means of escape, so he powers through with a confident attitude. Underneath his generally arrogant facade, he is a surprisingly thoughtful and kind person. Having been born and spending some years in Twoson, he is aware of how close-minded and bigoted people can be, and he prides himself on protecting his younger brother and Ness from the harsh bigotry he has seen.
Unlike his friend, Porky doesn't follow his parents' religion and does not care much for anything in his upbringing. Most of his good memories growing up come from Ness and his favourite show, Cardcaptors.
