A line-up of all of the Artifact Holders in Limins Vale. I'm quite happy with the designs as they are, but since the story is still undergoing development, they may change in time.

A line-up of the old designs for the Artifact Holders. As you can see, the designs of the characters have changed somewhat during development, with some changes being more dramatic than others. Of note, this piece was done in my old art program. The most notable character change is Melissa; for her 2023 redesign, I basically scrapped the entirety of her original idea and started from scratch.

Although I had his design figured out earlier, this was the first time I ever drew Ernest! Originally he had blue eyes, but when I decided I wanted his eyes to be brown, I went back and edited the colour here.

While I was brainstorming the idea of Limin's Vale since 2015, this was the first real art I ever drew of anything related to the story. At the time, I had named Mark "Mark Belrose", before changing his surname at a later date.

First (and only, I believe) Mark artwork of 2017! I drew him as well as Charlie, Elsie, and Haruka in an attempt to "modernize" the designs. For Charlie, Elsie, and Haruka, these 2017 redesigns are the first instance of them I could find. As you can see, this is the first iteration that introduced the mercury symbol shape in the artifact as well as the white of his hoodie.

This was where I really wanted to redesign the characters in a way that made me happiest. You can see I added all of Mark's signature design elements in this redesign; the freckles, buck teeth, the hoodie, the skirt + pants combo, and artifact shape all carried over to his 2023 design. I also changed his eyes from a full green to a hazel instead.

Drawn alongside Mark, Elsie, and Haruka in 2017. Early in development, Charlie and his family more traditional vampire clothing before I decided to give them designs that fit their modern setting better. As you can see, his artifact was very different initially.

Drawn alongside the other 2019 redesigns. First appearance of his new clothing and hairstyle, which I ended up really liking. His artifact is almost perfected, and I tested out having him be a bit more muscular. I didn't like it quite as much, so I rolled back on it in later drawings.

Elsie used to have brown eyes, and I was unsure of her outfit at the time of drawing this. This was the first time I drew her with a larger body, which stuck.

Haruka's initial design. She was much more feminine and her main colour was yellow instead. For an obvious oversight, I ended up changing her main colour to white later.

Was still unsure of her artifact placement and colour. I gave her a more mischievous personality and started to make her more butch than before.

A different look for Haruka, which I am much happier about. She is more butch and looks more confident and ready to mess things up, which is fitting for her. Hopefully her final redesign.
