Abussosian culture is defined by one thing; the "slumbering dream," the belief that the universe cannot end on its own, and their very existence as a species is proof in and of itself that the time has come to help the universe die, that it might reawaken, born anew.
To the Abussos, there is no room for pleasure in life. There is no concept of family, and babies born are nothing more than soldiers in the making. As the harbingers of the end, they have no time to waste in finding beauty in the universe; to them, it is all just tools to use to orchestrate their plans.
Because of the strict nature of these beliefs, any hint of deviant thought must be squashed as soon as possible. Any individual found to be sympathizing or considering deflecting must be killed as soon as possible.
The Abussosians have an ability that makes them uniquely suited to their enormous task despite their small size; because they are so small in comparison to most other life forms, they are able to comfortable crawl into the ear or nasal canals of other lifeforms. Their delicate antennae, though typically not very useful, become vital tools when inside of these bodies; they can control the bodies completely, so long as the original host is fully dead. If an Abussosian is unlucky enough to enter a body with a soul still in tact, they are usually abandoned to their fate, as both host and parasite cannot take the stress of fighting over the body.
The Abussosians are taught to have a hatred for the Khaosians, although it has been so long now that no one, not even the elders, can remember why exactly.
